COVID-19 Pandemic Response and Planning

Like all schools, the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected us greatly and will continue to be a significant factor in much of our planning for the year ahead.

In accordance with both NCDHHS guidelines and recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, WMS will continue universal mask wearing by ALL individuals on our campus.  This will include parents and staff, regardless of vaccination status, as we serve a student population not yet eligible for vaccination.  Students will again be allowed to remove their masks during recess.  Please know we will continue to monitor the guidance provided for schools and will make necessary adjustments to keep our families safe as we work to return to normal.   

We were very pleased to see that with the exception of masks, all other precautionary measures put in place last year may be suspended.   Parents will be allowed to enter our building again this year and special events may return.
